There are 2 primary methods to playing the singing bowl. The first is to strike it with the striker. This yields a sharp ring. The second is to hold the bowl in the palm of your hand and run the striker around the top of the rim. The amount of pressure required and speed for doing this must be individually adjusted for each bowl to get the best sound. Typically, only very minimal additional pressure is required beyond the weight of the striker itself. Be careful not to grab the bowl or dampen the metal with your fingers. This can also be done with the bowl on a cushion or stand, but is usually easier when held in one hand.

The sound created by singing bowls is said to be connected to the consciousness of the human spirit. The powerful vibrations of the singing bowl respond to the sound of the universal creation and inner consciousness. The bowl creates vibrations of its own which effect the vibration in the air. Singing bowl can also be used as space clearing tool in Feng Shui. These singing bowls produce sound vibrations which stimulate and synchronize the harmony of our living body.
